Fiscora Financial (“Fiscora,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects the privacy of visitors and clients. This policy describes information handling in connection with www.fiscorafinancial.com and our tax, bookkeeping and business services. It applies to prospective, current and former clients. A separate client privacy notice, engagement agreement or legally required consent may also apply.
Information We Receive
Depending on the service you request, information may include:
- Contact details and communications, such as your name, address, telephone number and inquiry.
- Information needed for an accepted engagement, such as identity and taxpayer identification details, household information, income, expenses, business ownership, financial statements and supporting records.
- Service, authorization and billing records, including instructions you give us and filing acknowledgments.
- Technical information associated with website or portal access, such as IP address, browser information and security logs, depending on the systems involved.
We receive information from you, people you authorize and, where authorized or permitted by law, service providers or tax authorities. Provide information about another person only when you are authorized to do so. The public marketing website does not provide a tax-document upload form.
How We Use Information
We use information to respond to inquiries, establish and perform agreed services, prepare and transmit authorized filings, communicate about work, administer billing, maintain appropriate records, protect accounts and meet legal obligations. We request information relevant to the work being considered or performed.
Website inquiries do not authorize us to prepare a return or use your tax information for unrelated purposes. Marketing preferences and tax-information authorizations are handled separately. You can ask us to stop optional marketing communications without stopping necessary service communications.
Tax Return Information and Consent
Tax return information is subject to special protections, including Internal Revenue Code Section 7216 and applicable regulations. Where a use or disclosure requires your consent, we will request the required separate consent before that use or disclosure. Browsing this website, accepting website terms or receiving this policy does not provide that consent.
We do not sell tax return information. We do not use it for unrelated advertising without an applicable lawful basis and any required specific consent. We do not treat an ordinary marketing opt-in as authorization to disclose tax return information. Read the IRS Section 7216 information for additional context.
When Information May Be Shared
Information may be disclosed, only as permitted by applicable law and subject to any required consent, to:
- The IRS, state or local authorities and authorized e-file transmitters for services you authorize.
- Service providers supporting our work, such as tax software, secure document portals, hosting, communications or payment services, to the extent needed for their role.
- A representative or other recipient you authorize.
- Legal or regulatory recipients when disclosure is required or permitted, including to respond to valid legal process or address fraud and security incidents.
A provider’s technical involvement does not eliminate tax-information disclosure restrictions. Where legally required, we provide additional financial-privacy notices and an opportunity to exercise applicable choices. This website policy does not replace a required client notice or consent form.
Outside Preparers and Offshore Access
Fiscora may engage independent tax professionals or contractors in the United States or other countries to assist with agreed services. Overseas personnel may access tax information remotely through an approved encrypted connection to Fiscora’s USA-hosted tax preparation system. U.S. storage does not mean that all personnel accessing information are located in the United States.
Access is limited to authorized work and subject to applicable confidentiality, security and tax-information disclosure requirements. Before access or disclosure requiring taxpayer consent begins, we obtain the applicable separate authorization. Accepting this policy or our website terms does not provide that authorization. Fiscora remains responsible for its own professional and safeguarding obligations.
Secure Portal, Web and Mobile Access
Use our Client Portal for tax returns, identification records and other sensitive documents. The portal offers web and mobile app access. Do not send Social Security numbers, tax returns, bank details or account passwords through an initial website inquiry, ordinary text message or social media.
Fiscora uses USA-hosted storage for client documents. The public website’s hosting and content-delivery services are separate from client-document storage. Portal and mobile app providers may have their own privacy notices and account terms; review those notices when using their services.
We take reasonable measures to safeguard information, but no system can guarantee absolute security. Protect your credentials, use available multi-factor authentication and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized account access. Fiscora’s own safeguarding responsibilities continue regardless of these client precautions.
Website Technology and External Links
The current public website does not include analytics or advertising trackers implemented by Fiscora. Hosting services may process technical logs to deliver and protect the website. The separate portal may use cookies or similar technology for authentication and operation. You can manage browser settings, although blocking essential technology may affect portal access.
Links to IRS resources, the portal or other external sites take you to services with their own practices. Their inclusion does not mean that the IRS endorses Fiscora or that this policy controls an external provider. If we introduce optional analytics or advertising technology, we will update this notice and provide any choices required by law before activating it.
Retention and Privacy Requests
We retain information for service needs, applicable recordkeeping requirements, security and the establishment or defense of legal claims. Retention periods depend on the record and applicable requirements; closing a portal account does not necessarily require immediate deletion of retained tax or business records. Keep your own copies of returns, authorizations and supporting documents.
You may contact us to request access to information, correction, deletion or information about applicable privacy choices. Available rights depend on the law and circumstances. We may verify your identity through a secure process and may retain information that we are legally entitled or required to keep. We will explain applicable limits and respond within legally required timeframes. Do not include sensitive documents in an initial request.
Changes and Contact
We will update the date above when this policy changes and provide additional notice when required by law. A policy update does not override an existing consent or authorize a new use of tax return information by itself.
